When Chris Reames, founder of the bold and vibrant volleyball brand Slunks, touched down in Tanzania with the LKTBF team, he wasn’t just bringing custom shorts and gear, he was bringing heart.
Slunks officially joined LKTBF’s Adopt a Team program in 2025, supporting a grassroots volleyball team in East Africa. But this wasn’t a distant donation. Chris showed up in person. Not just as a brand, but as a human being ready to connect.
Since before I even started Slunks, I wanted to do this. Now that Slunks can give back for so much we’ve gotten… it’s unbelievable. It’s honestly the coolest feeling ever. - Chris Reames

Chris arrived with bags full of brightly patterned African-inspired custom shorts, hats, and team jerseys, designed with care for the kids he would meet. As he handed them out, the atmosphere was electric.
The kids beamed with pride in their new gear, and the Slunks energy matched theirs. Fun, fearless, and full of love for the game.
“There’s one kid who hasn’t stopped smiling the entire time. Doesn’t matter if the ball hits the ground or flies perfectly, he’s smiling no matter what.”
Volleyball, at its best, is more than a game. It’s a way to bring people together across borders, backgrounds, and beliefs. Chris witnessed that firsthand.

“Honestly, I’m speechless. I’m never speechless. But I’m speechless right now.”
This is what Adopt a Team is all about. Not just funding. Not just sending gear. But showing up, being present, and forging relationships that last far beyond one day on the court.
From day one, Slunks has championed creativity and community. Now, they’ve added connection to that list. In a way that changes lives.
Thank you, Chris and the entire Slunks family, for making magic with us in Tanzania.
