A5 Volleyball Club, the top-ranked girls’ volleyball club in the United States, took part in a tour across across Rwanda, Tanzania, and Kenya organised by Bring It Promotions. Let’s Keep The Ball Flying joined the tour and visits to LKTBF-supported grassroots volleyball projects, giving A5 Volleyball Club insight into how community-led programmes are delivering impact on the ground.

A5 and LKTBF Unite for a Life Changing Tour in Africa

The tour brought together elite athletes aged 15 to 17 years old, experienced coaches and grassroots volleyball communities, with a clear aim: use volleyball as a tool for connection, learning and long-term impact.

Competing, Coaching, Connecting

During the tour, A5 Volleyball Club played seven matches, delivered multiple coaching clinics and visited several LKTBF Adopt a Team projects across East Africa. These projects support grassroots teams with access to equipment, coaching resources and structured development pathways.

What stood out, in addition to the high level of play in both Rwanda and Kenya, was the speed at which connections formed. Shared training sessions, rallies and team talks removed language and cultural barriers. The A5 Volleyball Club athletes stepped into the role of mentors, while gaining a first-hand understanding of how volleyball creates opportunity in under-resourced communities.

A Long-Term Commitment

At the end of the tour, A5 Volleyball Club Executive Director Gabe Aramian, confirmed a long-term commitment to the programme. A5 Volleyball Club will formally adopt a grassroots team through LKTBF, providing ongoing support beyond the tour itself.

This includes access to equipment, resources and continued engagement - ensuring the relationship built on court turns into sustained impact.

Beyond the Court

Alongside volleyball activities, the group experienced local culture, food and daily life across the region. These moments off the court gave athletes and staff a broader perspective on the communities they were working with and reinforced the purpose behind the tour.

Growing the Global Volleyball Network

A5 Volleyball Club joins a growing number of clubs worldwide taking part in the LKTBF Adopt a Team programme and outreach tours. These initiatives connect established volleyball organisations with grassroots teams, strengthening the sport from the ground up.
