It started with a simple idea. Athletes giving just 1% of their income to change the world through volleyball. Now it’s grown into something bigger. We're launching the 1% Movement for Coaches, and now 14 coaches have already said yes, channeling that 1% into free access to equipment, gear, mentorship, and knowledge for communities around the world.

From 10 to 30+ Athletes

Every great movement has an origin story. The 1% Movement began in January 2024 when 10 female volleyball athletes pledged. By May, 10 male athletes had joined them. By 2025, the movement had grown to 30+ athletes around the world, united by one belief: every young person deserves access to sport.

Now 14 coaches are stepping up too, including Sanja Tomašević, head coach of LOVB Houston and Giovanni Guidetti, head coach of the Canada women's national volleyball team. People who've spent their careers shaping players who are ready to help shape the future of the sport itself.

Why Coaches? Why Now?

Athletes play the game. Coaches pass it on. When coaches join a movement like this, they bring so much more than funds. They bring wisdom, relationships, and a lifetime of believing in players before they believed in themselves.

During the west coast leg of our USA Tour last February, Stanford women's volleyball head coach Kevin Hambly committed to the 1% Movement and adopted a school of his own — providing four teams across the entire school with resources and equipment they need to play.

When discussing the decision to adopt a school, Hambly reflected: "I believe in what LKTBF is doing. The sport has given so much to me, it makes sense to give back."

With 10+ new coaches, like Kevin, pledging 1% of their income to Let's Keep the Ball Flying, we're not just growing our numbers. We’re growing the game.

What 1% Makes Possible

LKTBF 1% coach Giovanni Guidetti put it simply: "We learn from volleyball that we cannot do anything alone." That's the idea behind the 1% Movement. Every contribution you give goes toward three things: getting gear and equipment into the hands that need it, building a community of people who believe volleyball can change lives and want to prove it, and teaming up with brands who get it, so our reach goes further than we could on our own. We've raised $120K so far for the 2026 season. These funds support all our mission and projects.
