Rio Social Sport Legacy
In the spirit of growing the game of volleyball and positioning it as the number one family sport entertainment in the world, the FIVB Sports Development department implemented the VolleyballYourWay Social Sport Legacy Programme for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The objectives of the programme were:
Foster Integration: bring communities closer to the Games through volleyball;
Empower the National Federation: expand on capabilities and best practices;
Ensure the project is sustainable over time: provide financial and managerial support.
To achieve these goals, the programme consisted of activations before, during and after the games focused in empowering the national federation of Brazil, integrating local communities with volleyball in order to build the foundations for a lasting legacy in the host country.
